“Vibe”, abbreviated for the word vibration, unconsciously surrounds the world, influencing us simultaneously. Everything has an energy that vibrates at different levels – including tables, chairs, and books. They just appear to be immobile because the atoms are dense and thus, only vibrating within the structure. During the past decade, the relationship between words and energy has been questioned, and now, several researchers have falsified and proved the concept of the science behind positive and negative words and the power words possess.
Take a minute to look at these two categories of words.
Love
Happiness
Gratitude
Sorrow
Hatred
Mourning
Every word resonates at different frequencies.
Love, happiness, and gratitude resonate at a higher frequency, whereas sorrow, hate, and anger resonate at a lower frequency. They “give off” different vibes, and that’s the power words hold. Words give out perceptible feelings when we see or hear them. However, it’s not just our psychological mind that creates such feelings and “vibes”. Quantitative data also supports that words impact our mood by giving out varying frequencies. The negative words such as fear, guilt, and shame not only implement a negative mindset because of our psychological consciousness but also because of the low frequency they hold, ranging from 30~100 frequency. On the other hand, positive words such as love, joy, and peace resonate at a higher frequency ranging from 500~600.
Many scientific studies have proven such phenomena behind words. In the 1990s, a Japanese scientist, Masaru Emoto conducted a study on the influence of negative and positive words on the crystallization of water. Emoto labeled one of his vials with negative phrases such as “I hate you”, and froze the water for 24 hours. The water did not form beautiful crystals but was rather clumped together, looking grey and misshapen. On another vial, he labeled it with positive phrases such as “I love you” and froze the water for 24 hours. In contrast to the first vial, the second vial produced symmetrical hexagonal crystals. His experiment overall proved that the energy/vibrations of words can alter the physical structure of an object.
Illusion of the truth
Taking a step outside of viewing the power of language from the frequency perspective, the amount of time we are exposed to such thoughts and speech also impacts our thinking mindset.
This is Werner Heisenberg, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who says: “Atoms or elementary particles themselves are not real; they form a world of potentialities or possibilities, rather than one of things or facts.”
How often have you said or even thought about negative words directed at yourself this week? “I can’t do this”, “I am not worth it”, “I am a failure”. Exposure to negative thoughts out of habit may influence us more than we think it may. They are just simple words. However, our brain learns from repetition, looking out for patterns and consistency to make a system that works around each individual. The statements we are exposed to more frequently become more valid whether the information is true or false.
We have the power to alter the frequency that surrounds us and thus, shape the realities we wish to experience. Not only is it important for ourselves to equip words with “positive vibrations” for our benefit, but also for people around us. By exposing ourselves to words at high frequencies consistently, we will be able to grow a positive mindset.
